Disputing a transaction on your card FAQs

 

This guide explains how to dispute a transaction on your AIB card and request a refund. A dispute is a claim that something has gone wrong with a card payment. If the transaction meets Visa's rules, AIB may be able to seek a refund on your behalf through the chargeback process.

Before you raise a dispute, please check whether the transaction may be fraud or a scam:

If you suspect you have been a victim to a fraud or a scam, this is not a dispute. Please call us straight away on Freephone number 0800 0391 140 or 028 9033 0099.

If you notice a payment on your statement that you didn’t make, please call us straight away. For credit cards call 028 9024 1822. For debit cards call 028 9033 0099. These lines are open 24 hours.
